Licensed Mental Health Counselor
I’m a trauma therapist with a deep respect for the ways the nervous system learns to survive. My work is grounded in the understanding that many emotional and relational struggles aren’t signs that something is wrong with you — they are signs that your system adapted in the best ways it could at the time.

I have extensive experience working with trauma in both civilian and military communities. I’ve worked within the military system and alongside veterans and service members, and I also bring a personal understanding of military life as both a veteran and a military spouse. This perspective allows me to appreciate the unique stressors, strengths, and cultural dynamics that shape military and veteran experiences.
I’m deeply committed to ongoing learning and growth in my field. Trauma healing is constantly evolving, and I continue to pursue advanced training to better support my clients in meaningful, lasting change. My approach integrates many evidenced based modalities rooted in understanding trauma's impact on the brain and development and how to rewire these survival patterns into more grounded and adaptable ways of being.
I also understand recovery and personal transformation on a lived level. I’ve been sober from alcohol since age 20, and that journey shaped my belief in the possibility of change, resilience, and the courage it takes to seek healing.
I hold a respectful curiosity about spirituality, expanded states of consciousness, and the deeper questions of life, meaning, and mortality. This openness supports my work as a psychedelic-friendly therapist, offering preparation and integration support in a grounded, ethical, and psychologically safe way.
Outside the therapy room, I’m an ultra-distance runner, backpacker, and lover of outdoor adventure. Time in nature, movement, and connection with animals are important parts of how I stay regulated and present in my own life — and they continually remind me of the resilience and capacity for growth that exists in all of us.
My style is warm, collaborative, and paced with your nervous system. I believe healing happens when you feel safe enough to explore at a pace that honors your system — not when you’re pushed to go faster than you’re ready for.
You don’t have to relive everything to heal. And you don’t have to do it alone.

I’m not your typical therapist. Growing up in rural Indiana, I learned early about hard work,
resilience, and the reality of life’s challenges. I come from a blue-collar background, spending
my youth working on the farm and in my family’s manufacturing business. Those experiences
shaped my belief that adversity, while painful, can also build strength and character. We all face
struggles in life, but we have the ability to move from simply surviving toward finding purpose
and meaning in the challenges we overcome.

If you work in a profession where strength is expected and vulnerability is discouraged, finding the right therapist can be difficult. First responders, veterans, healthcare workers, and blue-collar professionals are used to pushing through pain, solving problems, and carrying heavy burdens without asking for help. But the truth is that even the strongest people need a place
where they can take off the armor. Therapy should be a space where you don’t have to explain the culture you come from—you’re understood from the start.
One of the most important factors in successful therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist. A strong, trusting connection often becomes the catalyst for meaningful change. My approach begins with building that trust and creating a space where you feel safe sharing the struggles you may have carried for years. Many people walk into therapy with understandable skepticism or resistance. My goal is to work through those barriers first, so that real growth and healing can begin.
As a leader in the fields of mental health and addiction recovery, I recognize that every person’s journey is unique. I specialize in helping individuals navigate the challenges of addiction, trauma, and major life transitions. I support multiple pathways to recovery and have experience working with individuals engaged in 12-step recovery, medication-assisted treatment, and
emerging approaches such as psychedelic-assisted recovery.
With over 20 years of experience, I have worked extensively with healthcare professionals, veterans, first responders, and law enforcement officers. I also work with individuals experiencing addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, and men’s issues, and I've also trained in psychedelic assisted therapy. My therapeutic approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Reality Therapy to help clients build practical skills, strengthen resilience, and move toward a more meaningful life.
If you’re someone who has spent years taking care of others, carrying the weight of responsibility, or pushing through challenges alone, therapy can be a place where you finally focus on yourself. You don’t have to keep fighting the battle by yourself. If you’re ready to take the next step toward building a stronger, more purposeful life, I’d be honored to walk that path
with you.
